Bienvendio a Miami.....nope- Brazil....nope- Paraguay

Hello all-

I think maybe i should have posted something before this like an introduction or something about me packing or leaving but of course that didn´t happen so now here i am in Paraguay posting that i´m in Paraguay.....in any case, i got here on thursday morning after approximately 48 hours of traveling- i left the bay area at 11am on tuesday, was in miami, fl for one day and then got on a plane on wednesday night at 8pm, arrived at 5am in sao paolo, brazil, then waited for four hours, got on another flight for two hours and landed in Asuncion, Paraguay around 10am on thursday morning. Needless to say, i´m happy to be staying in one place for awhile....and i´m serious when i say awhile....two years is a long time, people! Not to worry- i plan to go other places while i´m here although not for at least a couple of months.

Unfortunately i only have a few minutes now, but i found an internet cafe close to my house, so i intend to write again soon, and post pictures, as i realize that´s the fun part of reading these so-called blogs.

I miss you all and lots of things in the states, but so far so good on the Peace Corps front!

  1. Man! You're there already! I was reading your blog to my family and they were like,
"Dag! they took her from one corner to another!" I don't know how you did it, girl! Shoot! I know you did not sleep! Remember when we looked over on the way back from Spain at Emms! We were like, "Ahhhhh HECK NAH!- Wake her little booty UP!" She slept the WHOLE TIME! OHHHHHH we were mad!

Anyway! Send us your address! I love you Carrie and really wish you were coming with us on our retreat this year, my special DD buddy!
Say your prayers and eat your...tell us what they eat over there!

  2. Hey Love, so it took me about 10 minutes to figure out how to freaking post a comment on here. I am soooo computer savvy! Lol! Anyway, I am so happy that you arrived to your destination safely and that so far everything is going well. I have been thinking about you a lot these past few days and I can't wait to go and visit that is for sure. Today, I went with my brother to the local high school and participated in a walk-a-thon. So I am super tired! LOL, but that's alright cause I will go to sleep soon and get some much needed rest! I really want to post a picutre on here that we took on the walk a thon of my family and I. You should have seen us, of course our crazy asses were doing ass workouts right in the middle of the track (my aunt and I) it was hilarious! I love you boo and know that I think of you often and can't wait to go and visit you! Yay Paraguay! She's so lucky to have you! Love you boo!

  3. Wow you are so tech savvy down in the Guay. Nice first post! Sorry to actually hear how long it took to get down there. I mean...I know we had talked about the itinerary on more then one occasion but to actual read it in print gave me one of those jet lag headaches. I am so glad you got there safely and I am so so so proud of you! I can't stop telling everyone I meet that you are down there making peace with the natives (with your journal). Naturally, after telling everyone your story, I have to excuse myself to go cry. I miss you so much and think about you every minute of the day. It is so great to hear your voice in every word you type! xoXOxo! Kara

  4. Girl, we miss you already around here. I can't believe you're already there. You weren't kidding around about this! It's like the day I moved to San Francisco and you left for Spain for a year... WTF. Can't wait to hear about all the adventures. Paraguay's not going to know what hit it. Love you.

  7. Hello love. So it's midnight in my part of the world and yes, I am still at work, and I was thinking earlier today..."WTF are we doing in this world???" Literally thinking, "what is the meaning of life?" While I know that I will not have an answer to this question in the next few minutes (or in my lifetime perhaps) I came to the quick conclusion that if we are not here to serve one another, what the hell ARE we doing??? And you have begun that journey of service for yourself, which may I say is HELLA TIGHT (you know how we do in the bay!) And above all, shouldn't life be an adventure? I know you are missing home right now, but I kid you not, part of me wishes I was in your shoes embarking on a new, exciting and yes, sometimes scary adventure. But then again, what are adventures without a little bit of the unknown! Anyway, just my thoughts girl, I love you and I hope you are doing wonderfully! I miss you. Peace.

  8. Hey babe, It's been a few days since I have written anything on here. I'm wondering how often you check this? Anyway, it's always nice to have something new to look at when you are far away from home and log on to these things. Ok, well today, kind of exciting, my little bro is graduating (woo hoo!) and Cece is here to celebrate with us so we are definately excited. So that is what I have going on for today. I just wanted to drop a not and let you know I was thinking of you and miss you already! Let us know what exciting things you have been doing when you get a chance. Love you!
